2/10/06 - Will the Nets Deal the Spurs a Tough Loss?
Best: Spurs @ Nets: A finals rematch of three years ago. There’s no Mutumbo or Martin to stop Duncan this time so who will do it? Jason Kidd is returning to his old self, which is good since Carter is just as suited to run the floor as K-Mart. New Jersey beat Miami and Detroit in the last week so they should be accustomed to facing tough teams. For those of you gambling on this game, take the Nets. Predicted Score: New Jersey wins 85-82
Runner-up: Knicks @ Hornets: The frantic style of the New York Knicks should be easily matched by the Hornets. Marbury and Chris Paul should be an interesting match-up. But a sleeper rookie has been David West who has become a very solid outside shooter. Predicted Score: New Orleans/Oklahoma City wins 100-95
Blowout: Hawks @ Sonics: Atlanta would be able to match Seattle’s pace if not for the slew of turnovers they commit. Rashard Lewis on Harrington. Luke Ridnour on Tyrone Lue. There are some serious mismatches. A young team like Atlanta should be running it up the floor. But Atlanta only gets 95 a game, so Seattle should run right through them. Predicted Score: Seattle wins 114-93
