International Terrorism; are we Winning
After 9-11 many people no longer felt safe in America, many felt that the government had failed to protect them and feared for their safety and the safety of their children. Indeed I myself certainly did not feel safe either. Having traveled around the country I noticed that there were just too many holes that might be exploited by terrorists.
Random acts of terrorism are almost impossible to guard against in an open society. Although their rates of terrorist kills are dismal (even in the World Trade Center they only got 3000), it has sent a shock wave of fear through the American people. Of course the mass media did not help in the hysteria of fear either, almost perpetuating it. This was somewhat interesting considering that the fear was affecting our country in such an adverse way. Especially considering the strength of our nation.
Eventually foiling plots and going after the evil do’ers and these International Al Queda Terrorists did put fear in the terrorists and set them on the run. They live and rule by fear and therefore fear is a good weapon for us to use against them, we needed to turn around the game on them. And we got our forces together and advised the world that we would fight the International terrorists in a place and time of our choosing and we did and are still doing it. If you will look at the scoreboard it is relatively obvious that we are winning and much better set up to deal with these threats now than before 9-11. So, think on this in 2006.
