Nike Dunks – What Is So Special About Them

You can’t escape the talks that go on around you about Nike Dunks, particularly if you are associated with the sneakers in someway, not necessarily as a seller or maker. I was in a strange fix till I decided to write this article to explain why Nike Dunks are really more than your money’s worth. The reason I was procrastinating for was I was afraid whether my article would spoil the party, for one, anything that sells hot like Nike Dunk or Nike Dunk SB rests more on word of mouth than on actual virtues after a stage. Well, here we go. Nike Dunks are deceptively simple looking, double stitched low profile outer sole shoes although each different model has its own distinct style. Occasionally you may come across a high top, high profile Nike Dunk SB which gives the old school design feel but more often than not it is the sportier, low pro SBs with over 65 styles and color choices that sell more. People that are mad on their SBs often complain that soles wear out fast but they find it hard to switch loyalty only because of two critical reasons which you will admit immediately if you are a skateboarder. 1. The thinness allows you maximum control while doing flip-tricks 2. However thin the soles are, they still maintain sufficient cushion Years ago when Nike released the sneakers, it meant them for basketball and hence the name Nike Dunks. And Nike didn’t have an idea to go for making full fledged skateboarding shoes until the original dunks were received with awesome patronage by skateboarders for their flat sole which provided for great board feel. The letters SB which are now added to Nike Dunks to signify their real commitment featuring nice, softer tongues, suede toe caps and zoom air soles for better grips. It is no big secret why Nike Dunks and Nike Dunk SB have received so much criticisms but the market is such a great leveler that when sales figures standout, everything else fades into oblivion. However, most of the anti-campaigns target the sneakers’ color schemes but given the wide variety of designs and colors to choose from, you don’t have much to complain which you can hardly expect in any other skateboarding or basketball shoes brands. Truly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Nike Dunks fans getting confused to choose their fad; a problem of abundance, indeed! Initially, Nike was a bit skeptic about entering into skateboarding shoe market which would have meant them undercutting into existing players’ market share which ultimately turned out not to be. Today, Nike Dunk SB has several models from baby dunks to Nike Dunk Pro SBs. I wouldn’t say you should buy Nike Dunks because the world buys. Like in different aspects of life, you should choose to do what you like most and if Nike Dunk SB allows you to express yourself, just go for it. If you chose Nike Dunks SB pro, I would say you have chosen the responsiveness and the feel over anything else.
