Starting Your Own Home Business? Then Read This for a Short Guide
Let me guide you on how to start your own little Internet business from scratch. You will not have to spend a penny. But if you do have the cash then it will just speed up the process.
Firstly when creating a home business you will want to know what path you are going to take. There are many paths to pick from when it comes to creating a home business. For instance, you might want to create your very own digital product and sell it to people one. You might want to affiliate with other peoples products and earn from commission. You might want to do both and give something for free on your site to also get the attention to your affiliate company’s.
I always believe mixing both together brings out the best out come. Not every one wants to see a site full of affiliate links; they want something in return in most cases. This is how I look at it. If you’re going to run an affiliate web site then imagine your self as one of your customers. Now enter your site and think to your self, would you buy from you? If the answer is no then most likely it will be the same answer with your customers.
Right we have picked our path so now all we need to do is to pick what affiliates we will promote. Lets say we wont to affiliate with a money making guide. Go to www.clickbank.com, these have loads of affiliates and only cater for electronic goods. Let’s use The Rich Jerk; his got a high gravity turn over on clickbank which means his product sells well. His site has a very good conversion rate so you know that if you do get the customers to your site then you have a good chance of converting them to a sale.
You can also place your own product in clickbank and they will commission it for you. This is really good for marketing your product, the more people that affiliate for you the higher the odds on some one buying your product! You may get less money for it but you will get faster sales meaning without this you wouldn’t have made as much with it.
So, we are going for the path of mix and match with affiliates and free content on our site. We have our affiliate ebook guide "The Rich Jerk" and we will try and sell it on our site without pushing a sales letter into our visitors face.
You know them sites, the ones that are designed with out hardly any navigation. Those sites are designed to sell products not affiliates! To get more clicks on your affiliate links you will want a site design that will give good content and have a good navigation menu. Check my site out has an example in the author box. We only have 1 affiliate so far but this is just an example. But make sure when selecting affiliates that you pick relevant ones. It wont look good if you pick affiliates that are all about make money quick scams and you pick a weight lose ebook, this will make your site look has if your out to line your own wallet.
Lets get some free content, our site needs something for our visitors to stay and to also come back to check. A forum is a good idea to chat about Internet Marketing, SEO, Ebooks or whatever you want it to be. Free Articles, Downloads or whatever. Long has its free and people want it then they will come!
Now here comes the good part, whenever making your sites makes sure you always have a newsletter or some form of way to get your visitors emails. This will benefit you in the future when you want to send out newsletters with your affiliate links attached. Imagine the profits from 10.000 leads!
Always make sure your site SEO is set up right too. Cause all your hard time getting all this information will go to waste. If search engines don’t rank you high enough then your site will flop!
So we are almost done, we got our path, we know who were going to affiliate with. And we know what sort of information where going to give away for free. What next? Oh web host!! Yes that’s right you need your site to be hosted by a company that will link your site to the big old www. You can get free hosting from just searching for it in Google now days. With free hosting you don’t get a domain name. You normally are given a sub domain name which is a domain name with the company’s address attached to it has well.
This won’t hinder your chances of starting your company though, like I said you can do all this without spending a penny. If you want a domain name then you can find once again using Google a list of company’s that will sell you one. Remember if you’re going for the mix range path then always make sure your domain name represents what your site is giving away. Stick with a name that suite your sites content!
Ok now you are now ready to rock and roll, there is still much to learn but I’ll post the rest in another article. Remember these things take time and don’t rush into things to quick or you might screw things up.
